Vietnamese Outreach Initiative
for College Education
The Vietnamese Outreach Initiative for College Education program, also known as V.O.I.C.E., is VSA's annual high school outreach program. This all-expense paid two-day conference provides an opportunity for low-income and under-represented high school students from Orange County to travel to UCSB and have a small taste of the college experience. This fun-filled weekend includes informative and active college preparatory workshops, key note speakers, a panel of current UCSB students, daily meals, a campus tour, overnight housing, t-shirts, souvenirs, and many more. Through this program, we strive to extend back into the Vietnamese American community in Orange County and give high school students an opportunity to branch out, connect with high school students from all over the county and UCSB students, and learn about and understand the accessibility and importance of secondary education.
This program is open to all high school students (grade 9-12) from Orange County, California. You do not have to be Vietnamese to participate in this program. We ask that our attendees come with an open mind and are eager to learn.
